Celebrating Excellence in Export and Innovation
We are now accepting applications for the 2012 Export and Innovation Awards. The Awards celebrate the achievements of those who are raising Newfoundland and Labrador to new heights. There are three distinct awards to celebrate excellence in export and innovation: Exporter of the Year; Innovation in Business; and Distinction in Innovation. The deadline for applications is Friday, May 4th, 2012.
The Exporter of the Year Award acknowledges the outstanding success of local entrepreneurs and businesses that have achieved commercial export success. The recipient of this award has significantly contributed to the province’s economic growth and has excelled at competing and succeeding in the global marketplace.
The Innovation in Business Award recognizes a company for its outstanding achievement in creating new opportunities to advance its business through innovation. The recipient will have successfully launched an innovative product, process, or service through its strategic risk-taking. This approach has positively impacted the company’s growth and market potential.
The Distinction in Innovation Award recognizes an individual or group that makes an outstanding contribution towards Newfoundland and Labrador’s innovative culture. The recipient is a leader who is enthusiastic about fostering new ideas that have positively impacted the province and its people. The recipient has created or identified successful opportunities for industry by collaborating and building partnerships.
The Department of Innovation, Business and Rural Development, together with its industry partners will deliver a comprehensive province-wide program of activities, providing professional development and information on growth sectors and market opportunities for local new and existing exporters and internationally focused businesses. Export and Innovation Week highlights the significance of exporting to the provincial economy and celebrates the success of innovative individuals, businesses, organizations and institutions.
