Trade Development Highlight...

From January 29 – February 5, 2011 an Atlantic Canada trade mission of 10 companies travelled to Panama City to explore export opportunities related to the Panama Canal expansion and related projects. During the mission, company delegates participated in guided site visits and one-on-one meetings with potential business partners, suppliers and distributors in Panama City and surrounding areas. Representatives also benefited from a variety of networking events, including a breakfast session hosted by Export Development Canada, and a reception hosted by the Canadian Ambassador to Panama.

This mission, supported by the International Business Development Agreement, builds on the success of previous missions to the region.

  • 120 Canadian-owned companies employ 22,421 people in 563 locations in Massachusetts.
  • Iceland’s clean energy, marine resources, strong infrastructure and well-educated workforce, provide a firm basis to overcome the current economic difficulties and implement necessary reforms, according to the Icelandic Government Information Centre.
