At the department's first UK Day, in-market and local experts will share their personal success stories and tips from the UK market to help shape your company’s international path to Europe.

New England Trade Development Mission
Boston, MA, March 20 - 24, 2011
The Department of Innovation, Trade and Rural Development is leading a multi-sector trade development mission to Boston, March 20-24, 2011. Matchmaking services with an in-market consultant are available.
The department has been offering trade development missions to the New England market since 1999, with over 150 of its clients having participated to date - from new to seasoned exporters. The region boasts a high concentration of ocean technology, high technology and advanced learning companies; an affluent, highly educated market; and, a strong cultural fit and common business practices with Newfoundland and Labrador.

Chicago Trade Development Mission
March 21 - 25, 2011
Chicago is at the centre of the commercial and distribution hub of the Tri-State Area of Illinois, Wisconsin, and Missouri. It is a territory with a population of approximately 24.4 million and a combined Gross Domestic Product in excess of US$1.4 trillion.
The Department of Innovation, Trade and Rural Development is partnering with Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME) and Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) to lead a trade mission to Chicago, March 21-25, 2011. Export-ready companies in a variety of sectors (including (but not limited to) information technology, agri-foods, transportation, environment, and aerospace and defence) will have an opportunity to explore the business opportunities presented in this market.

National Buyer Seller Forum, Edmonton
March 29 – March 31, 2011
The Department of Innovation, Business and Rural Development is accepting expressions of interest for the 2011 National Buyer Seller Forum (NBSF) happening in Edmonton, Alberta, March 29-31, 2011.
This year, the NBSF has assembled an influential group of oil sands executives and supply chain leaders who will spend two full days working with suppliers to refine, strengthen and extend the new oil sands supply chain. The theme for this year’s event is Green Opportunities Through Innovative Supply Chain Partnerships. The program consists of both keynote presentations from senior industry leaders as well as extensive interactive panel discussions led by oil sands executives and procurement leaders who will discuss mainly supply/service opportunities in various areas of oil sands development.

Newfoundland and Labrador Organization of Women Entrepreneurs Annual Conference

Officials from the Atlantic Provinces, along with its partners at Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) and Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), are leading a Pan-Atlantic Mission to Ocean Business 2011, in Southampton, United Kingdom, April 5 – 7, 2011.
Ocean Business is a biennial exhibition organized by Intelligent Exhibitions Ltd. in partnership with the Association of Marine Scientific Industries and hosted by the one of the world’s leading oceanographic institutions - the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton, United Kingdom. This event will showcase Atlantic Canada’s capabilities in ocean technologies and give companies a presence on the exhibit floor, provide in-classroom training as well as on-water demonstrations.

SIAL Canada, Toronto
May 11 - 13, 2011
SIAL Canada is an international tradeshow dedicated to food industry professionals and targets the North American market.
The Atlantic Provinces, with funding provided by the International Business Development Agreement, are planning an Atlantic Canadian Pavilion at SIAL Canada, taking place in Toronto, May 11 - 13, 2011.
The Atlantic Pavilion will consist of 20 booth spaces including a chef station, and meeting area. The cost to participate is $2,500.00 + HST.
This fee includes:
- Booth space complemented with personal signage in conjunction with the Atlantic Canada Showcase Décor Package
- Opportunities for one-on-one meetings with international buyers
- Participation in the Atlantic Canada Demonstration and Education Café where your exhibited products will be prepared and featured by an Atlantic Canada Chef
- Other activities are being planned (to be confirmed)

Futurallia 2011, Kansas City, Missouri
May 18-20, 2011

Futurallia 2011, taking place in Kansas City from May 18-20, 2011, is a fast-paced international business development event where more than 800 entrepreneurs from more than 30 countries will be participating in two days of pre-selected and pre-arranged one-on-one business meetings. Small and medium sized businesses from any sector are welcome, and each participant will be pre-scheduled up to 16 personalized business meetings.
The Department of Innovation, Trade and Rural Development is exploring the possibility of bringing a delegation of companies to this event, and is currently welcoming expressions of interest.

SEUS-CP Alliance 4th Annual Conference and Business-to-Business Mission
June 12-14, 2011
The Southeastern United States – Canadian Provinces Alliance (SEUS//CP) is a strategic partnership between states in the southeastern United States and member provinces from Canada. The alliance works to promote trade and investment opportunities between and among its member states and provinces. Member states include Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Member provinces include Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island and Quebec.
Delegations from each jurisdiction of the Alliance convene annually for a business-to-business conference. Delegations, led by state governors, provincial premiers or their designees, comprise business and industry leaders from a wide array of industry sectors.
The Fourth Annual SEUS//CP Conference will be held June 12 – 14, 2011, in Fredericton, New Brunswick, along the beautiful Saint John River.

Business Bootcamp Spring 2011
