The Strategic Industries Development Division provides policy development, strategic planning and coordination support for industry growth in strategic sectors including non-resource-based manufacturing industry, including the craft and apparel industry, agrifoods, fur industry, dimension stone industry, value added woods products industry, and aquaculture.
The Division manages a Supplier Development Program (SDP) which helps companies increase their success in selling goods and services to municipal, provincial and federal governments as well as larger private sector companies. The SDP hosts information and networking events throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. It also manages the Manufacturing Insights Workshops service, which provides information on available financial and non-financial support services to small-scale manufacturing enterprises in the province.
